Pottery Wheel & Wine: Mothers Day Special

  • House of Hobby Workshops 28 Drummond Place West Perth, WA, 6005 Australia (map)

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative afternoon on the pottery wheel, sharing a relaxed and memorable experience together.

Our incredibly talented ceramicists will guide you through the art of the pottery wheel, showing you how to shape and form clay into your own handmade vessel. This hands-on workshop is all about slowing down, having fun, and discovering the magic of creating something with your hands.

During the session, you’ll learn the essential techniques for throwing clay on the wheel before spending the afternoon experimenting, practicing, and shaping your own unique ceramic pieces. Every creation will be wonderfully one-of-a-kind, full of personality and charm.

This workshop is perfect for beginners, whether you're joining with Mum, gifting the experience, or simply spending quality time together in a creative way.

What this workshop includes:

• All tools and materials required, including clay
• Firing and glazing for two pieces
• A special keepsake for you and Mum to take home
• Step-by-step guidance from one of Perth’s talented ceramicists
• Wine on arrival and throughout the session
• A grazing board to enjoy during the workshop
• Bottomless loose leaf tea, coffee, and juice

What to bring:

Clay is wonderfully messy! So be sure to wear some old clothes and covered shoes. We'll provide you with an apron on the night.

Important info about this workshop:

Following the workshop, your pieces will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within 6-8 weeks.

If you create more than 2 x items, you can pay a kiln & glazing fee of $10 per item to turn other creations into usable ceramic vessels.

The pottery wheel can be challenging, sometimes on the first go, you might not create something you love. We will do our best to help coach you along the way. Ceramics can sometimes be unpredictable. Due to this, there are limitations on the size of your items, sadly pieces break during the firing process and we want to ensure you have a beautiful and functional piece. Trust us, we have had to learn from heartbreak! Don't worry though our expert will cover all of this at the start of your workshop.

This workshop is unlike any other and is not to be missed!

House of Hobby works with some of Perth's best creatives to ensure an unforgettable creative experience.

We can’t wait to introduce you to your next creative hobby. Tickets are strictly limited, Attendees must be over 18 years of age.
