Clay & Paint - Mug Making Pottery Workshop

  • House of Hobby Workshops 28 Drummond Place West Perth, WA, 6005 Australia (map)

Join us for a creative Sunday morning at our Clay & Paint Workshop, where you’ll learn the art of hand-building ceramic mugs with one of our team of hobby experts.

In this hands-on session, you’ll explore the beauty of free-form pottery while crafting your own ceramic mug and matching saucer. Customise your piece using special clay paints to add colour, patterns, and designs that reflect your personal style.

Our expert will guide you through the techniques needed to bring your mug and saucer to life, while giving you plenty of time to enjoy the creative process. Whether you’re trying pottery for the first time or already love working with clay, this workshop is designed to be relaxed, fun, and beginner-friendly.

This experience is perfect for a creative catch-up with friends, a unique date idea, or simply a chance to slow down and try something new.

All skill levels are welcome.

What’s included:

• All tools and materials, including clay and ceramic paints
• Firing and glazing for your mug and matching saucer
• Expert instruction from our team of hobby experts
• Morning tea to enjoy during the session
• Mimosas on arrival
• Tea, coffee, juice, and non-alcoholic refreshments throughout

What to bring: Clay can be wonderfully messy! We recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, or bringing an apron. Aprons are also available at the venue.

Important info: After the workshop, your pieces will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being ready for collection in approximately 6–8 weeks.

If you create more than two items, you are welcome to keep them by paying a small additional kiln and glazing fee per piece. Fees vary depending on the size of your creation.

Pottery can be a fun challenge, and not every piece turns out exactly as expected. Our instructor will guide you every step of the way, but ceramics can occasionally be unpredictable. In rare cases, pieces may crack or break during firing.

House of Hobby works with some of Perth's best creatives to ensure an unforgettable creative experience.

We can’t wait to introduce you to your next creative hobby. Tickets are strictly limited, Attendees must be over 18 years of age.
